Two Weeks Filled With Fun.....(wheeew)

Well now, that was fun...

but it's time for the eye patch,

the swash & the buckle

to go back in the pirate's duffle for

another year...

And to continue with the sharing of

pictures and stories...

As most of you know our grandson

Michael W. spent about two weeks with us recently...

oh, so many pictures and short movies were taken the camera was sizzling...

many, many pictures taken and so many missed...

I went and picked him up one weekend and brought him here...

for days we had fun playing trains ,

creating in the kitchen ,

Papa joined us for lunch a time or two and we had lunch with him in town a time or two...

the following weekend we loaded up and traveled to the country..

We had a "grand" time in Alabama!

We saw family, neighbors, and friends...

I got to spend time at the beauty shop..

(a long needed treat!)

while Papa & Michael were turned loose to their own devices...

(Agghhhh...Whew..they came back o.k. and in one piece!)

We saw Pap-paw and Mam-maw Ryan,

Uncle Russ, Aunt Renee and

Cousin Kelsey.

We saw Uncle Chris, Aunt Brina,

along with their two

Justin and Daniel ..

and Uncle Tim came by, too.

We went down to see

Coach & Mrs. Nancy and got to meet their horses!

Michael was so excited about going into the barn..

to fetch a handful of hay to feed them..and while in there stumbled across the horsey's rooms

("Where they go night-night!")

We made a trip to Albertville and met family at the Cracker Bucket for Sunday lunch

We saw

Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Joe Wayne

Aunt Mary and Uncle Doyle

and Mam-maw , of course.

Afterwards, we drove over to

Mam-maw Kadle's house for a short time...

Leaving there it was back toward Cullman where Michael and Papa got to show Gamma the

"GREAT BIG RED CABOOSE!!"

they had found on their "boys" outing the day before

and while we were at the old train depot..

What should we hear?

A real live, real long train! So off around the building we went to sit on the steps and eagerly await it's much anticipated arrival!

After the train depot we went over to see Uncle Charlie

and there

we were happy to see

Aunt Frieda & Mam-maw Ryan..

after a while Aunt Glinis and her husband Uncle Charlie dropped by...

Monday, It started out as a guy's kind of day...

Working on the riding lawn mower (changing a belt..I think)

Papa had lots of help.
Then to mow the yard ...

interspersed with wagon pulls for the young man!

Finishing touches were added to a drum majorettes uniform...

then another road trip..

starting off with a stop by the

"Top Hat"

for sandwiches and some good old

Alabama sweet tea

"This is delicious!..I Love this! "

The following week involved a trip to Papa's job..with inspection by Michael...

more trains and kitchen "creations" by

World renowned Chef Michael!

Now that you have the base story for the pictures..

and since every pictureis worth a thousand words..

I will "upload" pictures on this posting and on another will post

short movies...

I hope you enjoy!

I love the little yellow colander's timeline. Tell me though, did Young Michael put it on his head of his own accord, or was he prompted? Also, whose bust is that on the mantel from '78? I seem to have fuzzy little memories of it, but can't say for sure. Also, why would we have a bust of a stranger? Must be to go with all the pictures you bought of other strangers. hmmm...

Yes,Michael donned it himself..I however had him get in the chair while I got the camera..as for the bust...it was Sir walter Raliegh..I hesitate to tell you I painted it many years ago do to the response to follow will probably have something to do with my age and the choosing of the correct colors...I believe he was broken on the move to Augusta or Snellville....
