Waiting at the End of a Double Rainbow

Following a rainbow ...
you are suppose to be able to find
waiting at the end a pot of gold...Saturday , somewhere between
Mass. and Ct.
I saw a "double"rainbow...
Driving the "Gamma" van myself
I did not get the best pictures ,
but some were obtained!!
I followed those two rainbows
in hopes of finding a treasure
and in the end I did!
One, must have ended right atop
of the Hall home in Mosely,
and the other over a
cute cottage in Charlottesville!!
For there I found treasures
that have always filled my life with love and joy!

No leprechaun could be luckier than
this old Ryan!
***
With me came some more train tracks
and a few more cars for Michael's
collection...
He was most tickled.

***
Sunday, I ventured to Charlottesville
and spent the day with Carrie...
We ate lunch at the
"Baja Bean"
on the corner then
we headed out on a mission..
fabric to cover a chair,
was needed
and stain for a table..
all this to be worked on this weekend
during what has been dubbed
"Arts & Craft Sweatshop"
I had lots of fun with Carrie and her friend, Rachel
as we picked out and mixed and matched
fabric, notions and assorted accoutrement's for
the up coming projects.
***
Surgery was scheduled for Tuesday morning bright and early.
Monday night Michael was treated to one of
his favorite meals..
"Pizza"
Then as we were taking pictures our
young Ansel Adams had to
participate by getting out the camera he
got for his birthday..
many pictures were made..
So, I will share a few..

Chloe happens to be one of Michael's
favorite subjects...
whether it's to pose in pictures
or to be the recipient
of abundant loving and affection!!
Here Michael is visiting Chloe while
talking on the web-cam
with his "Papa"
Have I mentioned before she has
the heart of a "Saint"??
ahhww, Michael loves Chloe!
Yep, that's "Saint Chloe"

"Night-night ,Chloe"
***
The next morning came way to early,
in every ones opinion...
stories will be told and pictures shared,
however , they will wait until his
Mama has a chance to say
if she wants to do that on her blog...
If she does you will be seeing them when she updates
"Frogs,Snails,and Puppy Dog Tails.."
if not then I will get them on here when I can...
as Arts & Craft days happen and
as Michael speeds through recovery
Many more pictures and stories will follow.
I am very sure of it!
So for the next few weeks
I will be signing off from Virginia.
Thank you for each and every prayer sent up
with our little buddy in mind!

I Saw a Bright and Beautiful Light....

This past week
early one morning at the
beckoning of Michael's alarm clock
I awoke to the lowly state of
sub-human... My body racked with chills
as each and every one of my joints & muscles
screamed for mercy.
My throat closed up in protest at the very thought
that I might try to use
my vocal chords, which felt like blazing fire!!
In order to visit the restroom
one had to achingly fall from the bed
and slowly lurch across the swirling floor.
Michael took my temp and proclaimed
there was a fever...
for the next few days
the mattress and I became as one..
while deep down in my heart
I knew
in order to feel better
I would need
to wake up
dead!

Yet, I am happy to report
with a lot of love
and a little tenderness
thrown my way
I am almost 92% human again!
So, getting right down to brass taxes...
no excitement has filled my days, evenings or nights
and very few pictures have been taken this week..
As I prepare this blog..
Chloe guards me
(and the air conditioner)
to my left..

And to my right,
a young man
(who turned 5 mos. old on the 17th)

Thibodeaux

guarding is pretty hard work...

sometimes it's real hard to hold open your eyes...

..or hold your head up...

..."well, Chloe will wake me if she needs me"...

***

Before the flu
over took me
two more little
bowling shirts were
made for young Michael

one with monkeys

and

one with little elephants...
oh, fear not
ye Auburn fans
I have some "Aubie" fabric !!
...

and the bare beginnings of a growth chart..
cut out and sanded for Miss MG.
painting to come...

***

I stepped out this morning
and took a few of pictures from the deck

the woodland hydrangea is huge this year
and starting to bloom..
the fragrance from the deck is heavenly

If you look closely in the middle of the pond
(you may have to "blow up" the picture, by double clicking over it)
you can almost see several, not all,
but several of the fish that live there...
boy are they growing!

***

This week end
the puppies & I will be heading
to Virginia
to visit the children,
Michael W. will be having surgery this
coming Tuesday and Gamma will be there..
When "Mommy" & "Ba-Ba" go back
to work..
We will make and eat
"Apple Brown Betty"
and Banana Pudding..or
Mac and Cheese...
whatever that baby boys heart desires..
I'll make sure he gets..
I will also get to spend some quality time
with our baby girl, Carrie!

***

Felice updated their blog
last night with some wonderful pictures
from their Busch Garden visit..
Michael decided he loves roller coasters...
They had sent me a picture from the merry go round
which I will share

for more wonderful pictures of our little guy..
be sure and visit
and find out why kryptonite might just melt my heart!
***
As, I get ready to click the "post" tab...
both my puppies
continue to guard away!!!
...shhh...
... guarding can be hard work...

***
I didn't have an out of body experience..
I did see a bright and beautiful light..
however, following that
beckoning light...
I came to a K-Mart tire sale...
a blue light special!

First..a word about safety,... and... then an Irish blessing

One Picture is worth a thousand words!

R.J. Griffin is extremely conscious of safety

issues on the job site!

So who said you can't have a little fun while being safe?
***

This week's video snaps

include

Michael with a counting book

&

A whole lot of fun with stickers!

***
A Quick look around the yard...

Most of the spring flowers are gone...

And then on Saturday

as I stepped out on to the deck...

What was that color that caught my eye???

Pale yellow...orange...and red!!!!!!

No it couldn't be!!!!

Oh but yes, .. it was...

fallen leaves...colorful leaves...
Now, don't get me wrong..
I love the fall,
it has always been my favorite time of year!!
All the beautiful colors melding
into a picturesque landscape on a sharp and crisp autumn day
what could be more pleasurable
to the eye or the soul?
Now, what season may I ask you
comes after fall?
yep...
I have learned ,
the hard way I might add..
Snow season!
and this was only August the 8th
***
Sunday morning,
bright and early Michael and I head to the
southern coastal region of Connecticut..
a meeting planned for somewhere in the
10:30 to 11:30 a.m. hour.
It was made and
then we headed up U.S. 1-A
toward Mystic Ct.
for lunch..
Little did we know that when we pulled into the town
limits we would be greeted by bumper to bumper traffic
(no parking spaces)
and Hordes of pedestrians
all turned out for the largest little town
Arts and Crafts Fair I believe I have ever seen..
every street you looked down was covered in tents..
Policemen at each and every intersection!!!!
Oh, how it made my heart go
"pitty-patter"
and my knees go weak...
(we had started the journey today with a specific time set to get back)
as my drool cover chin turned in Michael's direction,
with the beginnings of a plea parting my lips,
there I witnessed the look of fear
ever so quickly race across his face..
then as he raised his eyes toward the heavens
I heard the faintest whispers of a prayer
offered up to his heavenly maker...
I turned ever so slowly back to my window,
feeling the strong arm of the good Lord
around my shoulder,
in a comforting way,
and his hand over my mouth!
I kept quiet knowing it would take me
days on end to visit each and every tent..
while carefully looking over and touching each and every ware..
so you see God does answer prayer..
We stopped in the next little town on the coast,
ate at a place called the "Dog Watch Cafe"
served by a waitress that had a
strong resemblance to the female side of the Kennedy clan
and still made it back to Rye by our designated time.

Large counter weights on a draw bridge

ahhhh...lunch

First time to drive in Rhode Island

Proof we were there...
***
We got back o Rye in time for
Michael to meet the deadline
on Ebay..
and he won the bid...

He is now the proud owner of a bicycle

as am I...
(that's why we were in Connecticut)...
I promise we will not be caught out on the street
wearing the ever so popular riding gear
that almost all the bikers are clad in up here...
It is the black and neon colored..
Spandex or Lycra suit that hugs each and every
bump, roll, or curve,
(resembling bright, slick paint poured over your naked body)
...that by the way at my age ,
you try so hard NOT to show everyone .
After the age of thirty a body has a mind of its own!
and on that subject we will keep our minds to ourselves...
thank you very much.
I am however, afraid
that we will be just too
cute...
Cute or not we will have fun
***

Chloe is our "Princess" and I am beginning to believe
she does have the old soul of some "saint"...

***
This morning I spied a
"little - bitty" frog
sunning out on the deck.

***

Do you remember the game
Where is Waldo?
Where is Thibodeaux?

There he is!!!

***
till next time..
May God grant you always
a sunbeam to warm you,
a moonbeam to charm you,
a sheltering Angel so nothing can
harm you.
Laughter to cheer you,
Faithful friends near you,
And whenever you pray,
Heaven to hear you.
an Irish blessing.
