Father’s Day Week-end in a glance…

Here we go again!

At almost the last minute

Michael said…

“This week end I want to go home

and see Daddy.”

So on Saturday morning we

got up and got ready…

Mike had to go by and check on the job…

Thibby had an appointment

for his yearly shots…

and then we were on our way…

back to Alabama

again.

Saturday night we were

in Homewood, Alabama

enjoying a show by

“Three on a String”

I have tried to put together a little slide/movie so I could add music…

let’s see if it will work…

They put on a wonderful show

as always…

and a short clip someone posted on youtube…

It is hard to believe that all these years have gone by in the mere wink of an eye…

Now, I am not real sure if

Felice ever shows Michael his Gamma’s blog…

but, Dee-Cee these next pictures are for him!

Coming back from Cullman,

these railroad track maintenance

cars where over past the

file plant…

Papa saw them and thought

we “needed” pictures for

Michael!

After a enjoyable visit at

the Mam-maw and

Pap-paw Ryan’s

with

Chris and Russ manning

the fires for a late lunch…

We went back to the house and

loaded up our duffle bags and our little puppies in order to head

back to SC for another

busy day on the job…

(For Michael, anyway..

as for me and the pups…

well, we took the day to get over the whirlwind trip..and to dote on Miss Bo-bo…

She thought it was called for…

she always thinks it’s called for.)

On the way back ,we decided to take the scenic route…

However, I think we will

leave that story for another time..

besides I do believe I hear Chloe and Thibby chewing over how they want to tell that story on their next blog posting…

All in all Father’s Day

weekend was a great one..

we got to run home,

see

Three on a String

and

enjoy the company of

Michael’s dad…

A week gone by…

A quick trip home took place last week.

While there a chance to see Mama and Mary

Elizabeth was sitting

with a sick grandchild

but if all goes well, the next trip will include another get together

that she will be able

to attend!

For several years

2 Finches, 1 Cat and

1 Poodle have shared Mama’s home and heart…

Sitting and watching the finch work on their nest I began to think of all the yard birds that consider our tufts of Pyr hair shed in the yard as Pure Gold for their nest…

So pretty much resembling a mad woman I rushed out to the

“Puppy/ Gamma van”

and retrieved a small amount of the wonderfully soft, fluffy  Great Pyrenees undercoat,

that clung to the van floor…

Making a small wad of it , I gently tucked it among the bars at the top of their cage…

Such a clamor arose as one darted to unlodge this new found treasure!!..

look closely and you can see where they

have started to incorporate their new “stuffing” into their abode!

6 7 10 6 10 10 168

Mama bade us to come watch “Baby”

run and play in the yard with their new fence…

She was so fast ,

I caught one picture

of her as she ran to the other side of the yard…

6 7 10 6 10 10 158

then a few pictures of where Baby had been when I pressed the shutter button…

6 7 10 6 10 10 161

 Mary, at least, stood still…

Then Baby was ready to go back inside.

It’s summer time

down south.

A Fairy’s Wing

carri fari wings c wish fairie

And as seasons come and go,

here’s something you might like to know.

There are fairies everywhere:

under bushes, in the air,

playing games just like you play,

singing through their busy day.

So listen, touch , and look around-

in the air and on the ground.

And if you watch all nature’s things,

you might just see a fairy’s wing.

Memorial Day Weekend

Part 2

Every single night while

Michael was with us

we got to read a couple of bedtime stories…

When he decided it was time for bed he would run over to the book case full of books for Michael

and every night he would come

to Gamma’s chair,

with two books cradled in his arms…

always

the eng that cld 001 and

cddl 4 cloude 001

Every night when asked for help the Shiny New Engine and the Big Strong Engines

would bellow

“Help the likes of you?

Indeed not!”

and

every night the Little Engine

thought she could.

day in and day out,

he would play with his trains.

All Aboard!

Chugga-chugga- choo-choo!!!

Sunday,

began with a movie…

a “Big Movie”

“Shrek”

shrek

with a BIG bucket of

pop-corn!

Later that afternoon it

seemed the right time for a nice ride on our bikes!

Michael Hall rides his bike on a sunny Sunday afternoon at Papa and Gamma's

5 31 2010 003 5 31 2010 008

Michael liked it when Papa cooked!

Papa would pick up the phone,

make a call,

then a young man would park out front and ring the bell…

that’s when Papa would announce

“Supper”

5 31 2010 027

Monday morning came all to quickly…

Michael got in some more time on the railroad…

As Papa say’s

“You can’t work on the railroad

all the live long day ,

if you don’t start early!”

5 31 2010 029

Then,

it was time to strap on the old traveling gear…

hat- check

backpack- check

Sippy cup- check

soft blue whale- check
